World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026: FED Foundation Empowers Girls with Dignity, Education, and Free Sanitary Support
Celebrating World Menstrual Hygiene Day with FED Foundation
In celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the FED Foundation proudly organized a meaningful community outreach programme dedicated to improving menstrual health awareness and supporting young girls with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive with confidence.
This impactful initiative focuses on breaking the silence around menstruation, challenging harmful myths, and promoting healthy hygiene practices. Many girls still face difficulties managing their menstrual cycles due to lack of access to proper sanitary products and limited education. Through this outreach, FED Foundation is taking a bold step to change that narrative and ensure that every girl can experience her cycle with dignity and pride.
Participants were engaged in interactive and educational sessions where trained health professionals and volunteers provided clear and simple guidance on menstrual hygiene management. The programme also created a safe and supportive environment where girls could openly ask questions, share experiences, and gain confidence without fear or shame.
One of the major highlights of the event was the distribution of free sanitary pads to girls in the community, helping to reduce period poverty and ensure that no girl misses school or daily activities because of menstruation. The outreach also included inspiring health talks that emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, self-care, and emotional well-being during menstruation.
The event featured empowerment activities designed to build self-esteem and encourage girls to embrace their natural bodies. Through group discussions, mentorship, and engaging activities, participants were reminded that menstruation is a normal and healthy part of life not something to hide or feel ashamed of.
