The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) released a full overview of its 2025 recruitment exercise. Three stages have been completed already, and the recruitment is now moving to Stage 4: Physical Screening and Document Verification.


Stage-by-Stage Breakdown

Stage 1: Application Phase

Application portal opened: 14 July – 11 August 2025.

One of the largest national turnouts in recent years.

Applications were received for:

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS)

Federal Fire Service (FFS)


Applications Received per Service

NIS: 165,212

NSCDC: 703,499

NCoS: 406,491

FFS: 482,198

CDCFIB: 116,122


Applications by State

Kogi: 116,162

Kaduna: 114,536

Benue: 110,565

Bayelsa: 11,669

Lagos: 14,216


Stage 2: Shortlisting Phase

Applications were screened and classified into:

Completed applications: 1,120,491

Incomplete applications: 432,935

Disqualified applications: 360,923


Only candidates with completed applications were invited for the CBT exam.

Top-performing states in this phase included Lagos, Kano, Rivers, and the FCT.


Stage 3: Examination Phase (CBT)

Nationwide CBT held: 12–19 November 2025.

Performance Breakdown

Score 0–40: 221,996 candidates

Score 41–60: 229,155 candidates

Score 61–80: 278,543 candidates

Score 81–100: 142,697 candidates


Attendance Categories

Candidates present and wrote the exam

Absentees

Candidates disqualified for exam violations

Candidates who passed the CBT progressed to the next stage.


Next Stage: Stage 4 — Physical Screening and Document Verification

This stage will involve:

Physical fitness assessment

Document verification

Identity confirmation

Height and medical checks


Only candida

tes who successfully pass this stage will be considered for the final recruitment list into NIS, NSCDC, NCoS, and FFS.
